Manager, Electrical Field Services
Description

CrestCura is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Services Manager to lead field operations within our Repowering (RRR) and Electrical Services business units. This leadership role requires a dual-threat professional who combines hands-on technical mastery with strong team management, project execution, and training capabilities.

The ideal candidate has specialized depth in either AC / DC repowering or MV Testing, with the cross-domain versatility to lead projects across both areas as required. You will oversee execution on active job sites, manage technician teams, manage project deliverables, and directly train and mentor field personnel to uphold CrestCura's standards for safety, quality, and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead complex hands-on electrical work, as well as manage teams of electrical technicians on site, ensuring high performance, safe operations, and quality workmanship.
  • Train, mentor, and upskill junior and mid-level technicians on field procedures, troubleshooting, testing techniques, and safety standards.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, skill assessments, and resource planning for field crews.

Project Execution & Management

  • Manage repowering (AC/DC) and specialized electrical service projects from site mobilization through completion.
  • Develop work schedules, manage day-to-day site deliverables, track progress, and ensure projects stay on schedule and budget.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact on site, working closely with clients, project managers, EPCs, and site safety leads.
  • Own daily site deliverables and drive execution progress, balancing hands-on technical work with project scheduling and client interface.

Technical Execution (Repowering & Electrical Services)

  • Serve as the primary hand-on technical expert for assigned electrical repowering scopes (inverter retrofits, re-cabling, combiner box replacements, and system upgrades).
  • Perform, oversee, or coordinate specialized testing on medium voltage (MV) equipment, substations, transformers, switchgear, and protective relays as required.
  • Diagnose complex electrical faults, execute root-cause analyses, and implement immediate field solutions.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Enforce strict adherence to NFPA 70E, OSHA guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and site-specific safety plans across all team activities.
  • Perform QA/QC audits on completed electrical work and maintain meticulous field documentation, testing logs, and project reports.
Qualifications
  • Industry Experience: 6+ years of hands-on technical experience in utility-scale solar PV, BESS, or industrial electrical systems, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory, team lead, or field management role.
  • Repowering Expertise: Demonstrated experience with AC or DC repowering projects, with the technical adaptability to work across both domains.
  • Technical Mastery: Strong working knowledge of central/string inverters, DC collection systems, transformer health, MV distribution, and general electrical diagnostics.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage field teams, balance project timelines, resolve technical disputes, and train/develop electrical personnel.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to project sites across the country as required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized experience in Medium Voltage (MV) testing, cable splicing/terminations, substation commissioning, or relay testing.
  • Certifications & Safety: Active Journeyman or Master Electrician license, OSHA 30 certification, CPR/First aid training, and strong practical knowledge of NFPA 70E / LOTO requirements.
  • Prior experience with an IPP, EPC, OEM, or specialized electrical testing firm.
  • Advanced testing certifications (e.g., NETA Level II or higher).
